In November 2024, I was honored to be one of five Austrian projects represented at Hospitality Qatar 2024, an international event bringing together leaders in travel, tourism, and hospitality from around the world.
On this global stage, I shared my work on the role of language, multilingualism, and intercultural understanding in creating meaningful, human-centered experiences in tourism and beyond. My presentation drew from both my personal content on @hebahsrollercoaster and the approach we use at Liqaa by Hebah — helping people not only learn languages, but also develop intercultural competence along the way.
This event was a milestone for me — my first time showcasing my work internationally. It also marked the official launch of Liqaa by Hebah, which came to life in just two weeks in preparation for Qatar. From designing the logo to finalizing the website, business cards, and flyers, everything came together just in time for me to board that flight.
While in Qatar, I also:
- Spoke at a reception hosted by Her Excellency Ambassador Erika Bernhard, Austria’s Ambassador to Qatar, for the Qatari Businesswomen Association (QBWA)
- Contributed to a Northwestern University in Qatar exhibition on the role of language in shaping culture, media, and social media
Why it matters: This experience underscored how language and cultural understanding are not just communication tools, but powerful drivers for creating inclusive, welcoming spaces across industries and borders.
