In November 2024, I had the honor of speaking at a luncheon hosted by Her Excellency Erika Bernhard, Austria’s Ambassador to Qatar, for the Qatari Businesswomen Association (QBWA).
Standing in front of such remarkable women from across the region, I shared how my passion for learning languages and exploring cultures is deeply rooted in my multilingual and multicultural upbringing — between Arabic and German, and between Egypt and Austria.
Growing up between two worlds that are so different wasn’t always easy, but it gave me a unique lens for understanding language and culture: not simply as words and grammar, customs and rules, but as windows into identity, history, and human connection.
This perspective now shapes everything I do — from language learning and teaching, to creating content, exploring cultures, and traveling the world. And it is this same perspective I hope to share in every space I enter, contributing to a world where mutual understanding grows through empathy, curiosity, and openness.
